What are Bach Flower remedies?Dr Edward Bach (1886-1936), a successful Harley Street physician & homeopath discovered Bach Flowers in and around Oxfordshire. Dr. Bach found he was able to harness the energy of wild flowers to treat emotional states which lead to disease; emotions such as fear, grief, stress, irritability, hopelessness, rage and anxiety. He believed that treating the mind, the most sensitive part of the body, would lead to either a reduction of a symptom, or the avoidance of that symptom ever appearing. Treating our fears and worries helps lift the mind and make us happier.Bach Flowers are completely free of side effects and are not addictive. They can safely be taken by pregnant and lactating women, babies, the elderly and are even effective on animals. Children respond well and quickly when their issue is identified, such as fear of going to a new school or the change involved in a house move where Walnut would be indicated. For fear of strangers you may choose Mimulus. Should they become aggressive towards a new born, Holly would be a good choice. There are 38 Bach Flower remedies to choose from. These can be bought over the counter in many shops, but are best prescribed by a health practitioner who may be able to see traits on a patient better than they can see themselves. A practitioner can also mix a number of remedies together for optimum effect. |
