About Sheena O'Beirne

Sheena O’Beirne is a qualified naturopath, nutritionist and yoga teacher. She has studied widely in her core areas and divides her time between private practice, yoga studios and public speaking to corporates and voluntary organisations.

Sheena’s philosophy is to reawaken the body’s inherent vitality by using the gifts nature has provided – fresh food, fresh air, water, sunlight and finding a way in these hectic times to relax at some level. When the body gets out of balance, and this imbalance shows up as illness, she uses natural therapies to restore it to normal.

She is the co-author of The Weekday Diet (Penguin) with Peter Barnes, and has contributed to a number of Australian radio stations and magazines. She has written and recorded a relaxation CD called Yoga for the Mind which takes brain waves to the very edge of sleep helping those who are stressed, anxious, overwrought calm their mind.

In her work at the clinic and through her book Sheena strives to guide the public through the clutter of often contradictory advice available on health and nutrition with simple, practical solutions. Her aim is to give control back to her patients, who often feel that as a result of seeking advice from other health practitioners, have lost ownership of their condition.

She regularly gives talks for both corporate companies and community groups on a wide range of health and weakness topics, as well as how to use food as medicine incorporating it more into daily life. Previous engagements range from naturopathy in the corporate environment to yoga for the over 70s.
